Sidley FC 0 v Eastbourne Town C 2
Sunday 23rd Oct at Sidley
A goal in each half was sufficient to claim the 3 league points
available and, importantly, another clean sheet was achieved and
richly deserved for Towns County League U18's. James Ticehurst,
playing a central role up front on his own, neatly twisted and
turned the Sidley defence and finished with aplomb after being put
through by the impressive Josh Fear to put Town 1 up after 30
minutes which their play deserved.
Soon after the start of the 2nd half, Nathan Pelling outstripped his
defender and made no mistake with his trusted left foot to give Town
a second goal and cushioned lead. The defence of Jyff Felix, Jake
Bilal, Craig Gibson and Josh Fear were resolute throughout and
cleared their lines with effect when necessary. Town 'keeper, Chris
Knight, had to make a couple of smart saves in the 2nd period and
was in a determined mood throughout not to be beaten. Captain, Joe
Summerbell, fought tirelessly in midfield to gain possession and was
well supported by Joe Salter and Callum Matthews who, in turn, fed
whenever possible the wide players.
This was a very good team performance and Town's youngsters
were rightly applauded off the pitch by the home supporters, a
credit both to the way Town played and to Sidley FC as a whole.

Eastbourne Town 3 Faversham 1 (aet)
Monday 4th September 2011 - FA Youth Cup
Eastbourne Town Ryman U18’s started their FA Youth Cup campaign with
a fine 3-1 win over Faversham Town at the Saffron’s on Monday.
The first half kicked off with Town being the liveliest of the two
teams keeping good possession of the ball and creating numerous
chances which they failed to convert into goals. This gave the away
team a lift and midway through the first half Faversham’s big centre
forward found himself one on one with Brunt and slotted the ball
into the Town net. Town continued to create chances and on the
stroke of half time Hendon surged into the box and was taken down
for a penalty. Stonell stepped up to take the spot kick which was
superbly saved by the Faversham keeper giving them a 1-0 lead at
half time.
The second half started much as the first and Town were soon awarded
a second penalty for a foul on Devlin which Hendon stepped up to
take and cooly converted making the score 1-1. Both teams then began
to press forward to get the winner but failed to increase the score
and a superb save by Byrne at the feet of the Faversham no 9 kept
the score to 1-1 at full time. Extra time loomed and Town started
the better of the two teams, On 97mins a poor clearance from the
Faversham defence landed at Fox’s feet on the six yard line which he
stroked past the keeper putting Town 2-1 up. The home side then
began to take control of the game and Shannon made the result 3-1
after taking the ball round the keeper and slotting home.
